Travel Information

Please note that when entering "Kings Lynn" into the websites suggested below that there is a sometimes a discrepancy on how to spell this: Some websites only accept "Kings Lynn" while others only accept "King's Lynn" - i.e. with an apostrophe!

Course Location

Classes will be held in the town of Kings Lynn in Norfolk at the Globe Hotel.

Globe Hotel

The Globe Hotel is on the corner of Tuesday Market Place in the centre of town.  Address is: The Globe Hotel, King Street, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. PE30 1EZ.

Click  here for Globe Hotel Website

Click here for a map of the Globe Hotel's location.

Car Parking

Please note there are no car parking facilities at the Globe Hotel.  There are several public car parks in the town within walking distance.

Please click here for a map of car parks in Kings Lynn town centre. The long stay car parks are the cheapest.  For tariffs of these car parks - follow this link to the Kings Lynn's Council Website.

Please note the cost of these vary and that some have restricted times you can stay.  The car park outside the Globe Hotel (number 1 on map) for example is very expensive and has restricted times.

Please factor in enough travel time to find an appropriate car park elsewhere.

A private car park we recommend is shown on the car park map with a red cross. This car park, whose entrance is on Church Street, always has spaces and is reasonably priced for a whole day. Alternatively we suggest the long stay car parks A, D, E or F (see map).

Airport Information

The Nearest Airports to Kings Lynn :

Norwich Airport (NWI) is the nearest airport to Kings Lynn but not the most convenient unless you hire a car. Usually flights to this airport are more expensive than flying into the London Airports. Generally flights to and from here are routed through Amsterdam (with KLM airways). It is not so straightforward to travel from this airport to Kings Lynn. You will need to get a airport link bus or taxi into Norwich (see www.norwichairport.co.uk/gateway.asp?pid=3 ) and then take the train or bus from to Kings Lynn from the centre of Norwich. For train information visit www.nationalrail.co.uk and for bus information go to www.firstgroup.com (its the X1 bus line you need).

London Stansted (STN) which is north of London  is by far the most convenient airport to fly into as there is a train station at this airport and in less than 2 hours you will be in Kings Lynn (usually change at Cambridge on route). London Stansted is utilised by many budget airlines throughout Europe and so please look for deals with these. For longer haul flights outside Europe you will probably find that you have to fly into London Gatwick or London Heathrow instead.  For train links from London Stansted airport to Kings Lynn please visit this website: www.nationalrail.co.uk - please enter "Stansted Airport" in the search (not London Stansted). For bus information from Stansted airport to Kings Lynn please refer to www.nationalexpress.co.uk (about 3 hours).

London Heathrow (LHR)  is located east of London and it is a common destination airport for incoming long haul flights. Onward travel by train: To travel from here to Kings Lynn by train you will need to travel into the centre of London to Kings Cross Station (north London) and then travel from here to Kings Lynn (see www.nationalrail.co.uk ).  The journey from Kings Cross to Kings Lynn  is usually less than 2 hours (weekends maybe longer). From Heathrow airport there are several options on how to get across London to Kings Cross Station. The cheapest is to get the underground tube (www.tubeplanner.com). There is a station at the airport and you need to get on the Piccadilly line to Kings Cross (about 45 minutes). The next cheapest and quicker option is to get the Heathrow Connect (www.heathrowconnect.com) . This a faster train that connects you from Heathrow Airport to Paddington Station (about 25 minutes). From Paddington you then need to get on the underground tube to Kings Cross (Hammersmith and City Line). Faster and more expensive is the Heathrow Express (www.heathrowexpress.com)  which again links you to Paddington Station (15 minutes) and from here you need to get the underground tube to Kings Cross (Hammersmith and City Line). We think the underground is the best option as you don't have to change trains to get from Heathrow to Kings Cross station. Onward Travel by Bus: Please refer to www.nationalexpress.com  for details of buses from Heathrow Airport to Kings Lynn. There are good services from here - convenient because the bus station is situated by the airport. You will need to change buses on route (usually at Cambridge) and the journey time is over 4 hours.

London Gatwick (GTW) is located south of London and it is a common destination for incoming long haul flights. Onward travel by train: To travel from here to Kings Lynn by train please refer to www.nationalrail.co.uk .  You will need to change at Kings Cross (journey time is over 4 hours). Onward Travel by Bus: Please refer to www.nationalexpress.com  for details of buses from Gatwick Airport to Kings Lynn. You will need to change buses on route (usually at Cambridge) and the journey time is long at about 6 hours.
